INez W. Bently was born in beautiful West Pam Beach, Florida. She graduated from Clark Atlanta University (better known as CC) in 1981 where she obtained a BA degree in Human Resources with a minor in Fashion Design. INez was employed with FedEx Corporation for 28 long years. Since her retirement, INez has been an active and dedicated member of Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild (BSSQG) since 2009.
She began quilting eleven years ago as a way of leaving the trials and stress of the day behind and as a way to to help her with her sleepless nights. She now teaches a beginner quilters class for seniors at Zion Hill Baptist Church; has facilitated the first Teen Quilters Workshop for Every Black Girl National Conference in 2018; has been a vendor at Sister in Spirit Inc. annual retreats; and is a staple vendor at Sylvia High’s I AM Woman annual conferences and was the AKA Artist & Inspiration 2020.
INez is the owner of Zeni Designs (which is INez spelled backwards) where she utilizing her true gifts and eye for putting unique color and fabric combinations together. She is excited about creating one or a kind pieces to add to her repertoire of over 100 quilts and 150 women’s wraps and shawls because she loves sharing her passion for the art of quilting and making exquisite designs.
